Welcome to Small Law @ Practice
Dedicated to helping you build your practice.
Hi, I’m Jared Pierce, founder and creator of SLAP. If you are interesting launching, building, or growing your own law firm but don’t know where to start, this web site is for you.
I founded Small Law @ Practice (SLAP) with four basic principles in mind: Share openly, be honest, work hard, and lead by example.

THE SLAP DEFINITION
In my experience, as an owner of a small law firm, what small law wants and needs — and what I focus on here at SLAP — is the following:
Building a law firm that takes advantage of system and process automation that enhances growth and promotes professionalism without unreasonable or unnecessary expenses.
In other words, we don’t waste time **dumping money into advertising, just to advertise.
Instead, we legal entrepreneurs invest our time and effort into creating long lasting value for our firm and clients. We put forth the effort now so that we can continue to reap the benefits later.
What this website is NOT…
Mythbusting the Legal Professional
Let’s dispel some myths and set realistic expectations before we go any deeper:
Starting and building a healthy law firm is not easy and it takes a tremendous amount of planning and effort. We believe that nothing good in life comes easy. After all, if it was easy everyone would do it. Starting and growing your law firm is no different, despite what you may hear from other lawyers.*
Building and growing your law firm will not happen instantly, overnight, in a week, or even a month.
There is nothing on this site about getting rich quick. It took just under a year of hard work before my law firm was generating enough income to support my family. There is nothing simply, fast or easy about what I had to do to get my law firm started. But the growth that we have experienced was because we planned, developed and created sophisticated systems and process from the beginning.

A New Approach to Practicing Law
I’m here for you and your firm. If I can help, all you have to do is ask.
I want to hear how your firm is doing, what you are doing to succeed and how your plans are working. I want to know how else I can help you. I truly want to share our journey, together. That’s the only way we all succeed.
